Plinth Studio
Height is a decision, not a default.
Plinths, vitrines, display walls and staging for galleries, museums, shops, collectors and plant people. Every plinth carries a stated load. Every case says what it actually seals.
Specification
A sealed case is not a trim level.
Dust sealed keeps dirt and fingers off an object. A conservation case controls humidity, pollutants and light — different materials, a different air exchange rate, a different price. Most displays need the first. Here is how to tell which you need before you spend the money.
Plant people
“Wet rated” is a specification, not a phrase.
Water sits at the saucer, wicks into an unsealed joint and stays there. Lacquered timber blisters within a season; uncoated steel rusts from the point of contact outward. Everything in that collection is coated steel, sealed solid surface, or slatted so water cannot pool at all.
Retail and shopfit
Resettable on a Monday morning.
Modular plinths in repeatable footprints, slotted wall systems and packages specified so the parts swap. Heights stepped, footprints in one family, finish from one spray batch — which is why a window reset takes an hour and one person.
